Trainers Basic 1
Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment Basic Trainers courses are open to those individuals who have completed their Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment Basic Study, have evidence of at least 100 hours of work with the Basic instruments, have submitted all related documentation, and have been approved to participate in trainer training.
The course is open for graduates of FIE Basic courses who studied all 11 FIE Basic instruments and who submit evidence of FIE Basic practice to Feuerstein Institute (in the language of the Basic Trainers-1 course to be taken). The evidence of FIE Basic practice is expected to reflect at least 100 hours of FIE Basic work with a significant part of the FIE instruments (at least nine Instruments), and to include the standard report of FIE Basic program implementation (to be obtained from Feuerstein Institute), two Lesson plans (mandatory), articles (optional), videos and other material pertaining to training administered (optional). The Evidence of Practice will be professionally assessed at Feuerstein Institute. In addition, candidates for FIE Basic Trainers 1 course are expected to meet all CPD requirements up until acceptance to FIE Basic Trainers 1 and provide two letters of recommendation from a trainer they trained under in the past, or from their FIE supervisor. The Feuerstein Institute reserves the right to reject candidature on the basis of committee members’ opinions that the candidate has not met the established requirements for acceptance.
Course participants are required to bring a set of FIE Basic Instruments and are encouraged to bring FIE Basic manuals. Basic Teaching Diagrams will be provided by the Feuerstein Institute via the learning platform.
Upon completion of the FIE Basic Trainers 1 course, graduates will receive an FIE Basic Trainers 1 certificate-granting: a. Eligibility for work as co-trainers within the framework of Feuerstein Institute or a Feuerstein Institute Authorized Center (ATC) and for teaching teachers and professionals under the supervision of experts at the said Authorized Center; b. Eligibility for the position of supervisor of teachers who teach FIE Basic in classrooms or clinical settings; c. Eligibility to submit candidature for an IE Basic Trainers 2 course. The certificate is valid for four years from its issue date. A renewal of the FIE Basic Trainer 1 certificate is dependent on renewal training (CPD) consisting of the following: a. Submittal of verification to Feuerstein Institute reflecting at least 45 hours of work as a Basic Trainer-1 under supervision of a senior FIE Basic trainer. b. Participation in annual lectures using e-learning, including successful completion of a questionnaire about the material presented in the lectures, or participation in annual “live” CPD seminars organized by local Authorized Training Centers, or attendance of additional FIE or LPAD courses.
Please note: Teaching teachers and professionals are only allowed after completing the FIE Basic Trainers Level 2 course, and requires the signing of an alliance agreement with Feuerstein Institute as an ATA, ATC (Authorized Training Center), or working as a staff member of an existent ATC.
