Every summer, a unique gathering takes place — one that brings together educators, clinicians, parents, and passionate learners from around the world to explore a simple, powerful idea: that human potential is not fixed.

This July 7–11, we’ll return to Chicago for the Shoresh Conference, a multi-day learning experience built around the Feuerstein Method — a cognitive intervention approach developed by Professor Reuven Feuerstein that has transformed lives across generations, abilities, and cultures.

At its core, the Shoresh Conference is not a traditional conference. It’s a hands-on training, a space for reflection, and a deep dive into a philosophy that many participants describe as transformative. Whether you’re encountering the method for the first time or returning to refine your skills, this year’s program emphasizes practical tools that can be applied in educational, clinical, and home environments.

What Will You Learn?

This year’s sessions include hands-on training in Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment (IE) and Dynamic Assessment, with courses for both beginners and experienced practitioners. You’ll learn how to identify learning potential — even in students who have been labeled “low functioning” or “unteachable” — and how to activate that potential through carefully structured interaction.

These tools aren’t just for specialists. They’re for teachers who want to reach students falling through the cracks. For psychologists and therapists working with neurodiverse populations. For parents seeking hope and direction. For anyone who believes that intelligence is not a number — it’s a process that can be nurtured.

A Fresh Look at Attention Challenges

One of the most talked-about workshops at Shoresh this year is called “Behind the Thinking of Attention Disorder,” led by two experienced trainers, Daniela Zamboni and Vicki Snyder.

If you’re a teacher, therapist, or parent who’s worked with kids who struggle to focus, stay organized, or follow through on tasks — this session will feel like a breath of fresh air. Instead of just talking about the behaviors we see with attention difficulties, this workshop digs deeper into what’s going on behind the scenes — into the thinking processes that drive those behaviors.

You’ll come away with a new way of looking at attention. Not as one-size-fits-all, but as something that can show up in different ways for different people. The trainers will walk you through three distinct types of attention-related challenges, and help you understand how to spot the differences — and more importantly, how to respond to each one effectively.

You’ll also get hands-on experience with Feuerstein tools that are used around the world to help individuals strengthen their thinking skills, improve focus, and build independence.

This workshop is especially helpful for:

  • Educators looking for new ways to support students who seem easily distracted or overwhelmed

  • Parents trying to better understand their child’s needs and how to support them at home

  • Professionals who want more than labels — they want real strategies that make a difference

It’s part of the full Shoresh program (July 7–11 in Chicago), and the workshop fee is only $200.

Whether you’ve worked with attention disorders for years or are just starting to explore this area, this session offers practical insights and tools you can start using right away — in your classroom, therapy room, or living room.

This year’s lineup includes courses in:

  • Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (IE) – both basic and advanced levels

  • Dynamic Assessment – understanding how to measure learning potential, not just static performance

  • Bridging the Gap – connecting cognitive work with classroom application

  • …and several thematic workshops that address current challenges in learning and behavior

Why Shoresh Matters Now

We live in a world full of fast labels, where differences are often seen as deficits. The Feuerstein Method offers a counter-narrative: a belief in modifiability, in the power of intentional human connection, and in our shared capacity to grow.

In a time when many educational and therapeutic systems feel stretched thin, Shoresh offers a space to re-center. To learn not just new tools, but a new lens through which to view others — and yourself.

We’re looking forward to learning, thinking, and growing together this summer. If you’ve ever wondered whether change is possible, or how to help someone unlock the best version of themselves, Shoresh is the place to start.
