Who is this seminar for?

The course is open to university/college students, educators, psychologists, clinicians, and other professionals interested in cognitive intervention. 

Course Syllabus:

  • Introduction to the theory of Structural Cognitive Modifiability;
  • Introduction to the Theory of Mediated Learning Experience
  • Analysis of deficient cognitive functions in regular and special needs populations;
  • Criteria and principles of mediation;
  • Goal and sub-goals of the clinical and educational application of the FIE program;
  • FIE Lesson planning and preparation of “bridging” exercises;
  • Comprehensive instruction in the use of the following FIE instruments: Organization of Dots; Comparisons; Analytic Perception; Orientation in Space I
  • Introduction to the digital version of the Instrumental Enrichment program

Learning Materials:

Course participants will receive a set of 4 FIE instruments, Teaching Diagrams, and Page by Page Guidelines for FIE teachers.

About Course Trainer

Dr. Jeanne Zehr offers a unique approach to improving thinking and learning skills for all ages, from children with ADHD to stressed CEOs. With 35 years in public education, she holds a Masters in Educational Administration and a doctorate from Indiana State University, recognized for her research on changing teachers’ belief systems. As the Director of North American Programs at the Feuerstein Institute and the Founder of The MINDCAP Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Dr. Zehr provides training and clinical services in the Feuerstein Program, a cognitive skills method. She has trained professionals worldwide, including in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Schools, corporations, and nonprofits seek her expertise in the neuroscience of leadership, creative thinking, and growth mindset. Her faith journey fuels her passion for the brain’s potential, empowering others through dynamic presentations.

Certification:

Course participants will be awarded a Certificate of Instrumental Enrichment Mediator Level 1 (of 3) upon successful completion of the entire course requirements. The certificate is valid for four years from its issue date and is renewed subject to the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) conditions: a. Submittal of a verification form of IE implementation to Feuerstein Institute https://feuerstein-institute.org/training/continuous-professional-development/ reflecting at least 30 hours of work with IE-1 (of 3) instruments; b. Participation in annual online or “live” CPD seminars organized by the Feuerstein Institute or/and local Authorized Training Centers, or attendance of three additional IE or IE Basic courses.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

Please note: The Feuerstein Institute reserves the right to cancel any course that has less than 10 participants registered. The final list of courses will be posted following the registration deadline of September 1, 2024.  Fees for courses canceled by the Institute will be refunded in full. In cases where the participants cancel, there is a €100 processing charge for reimbursement of workshop fees for cancellations made before the registration deadline. There are no refunds for cancellations after the registration deadline.
