FIE for Students with Learning Difficulties in Mathematics 

This workshop is intended for all teachers who work with students who have learning difficulties /disabilities in mathematics. Prevision acquaintance with Level 1 Instrumental Enrichment program is desirable. The cognitive prerequisites of efficient problem solving, especially related to visual thinking and spatial orientation will be discussed. The centrality of a metacognitive teaching during mathematics lessons will be emphasized. How the application of “Organization of Dots”, “Orientation in Space”, and “Analytic Perception” can facilitate the development of visual thinking and spatial reasoning in the classroom.   

Content Overview:

• Discussion of cognitive prerequisites for efficient problem solving, with a focus on visual thinking and spatial orientation.
• Emphasis on the centrality of metacognitive teaching during mathematics lessons.
• Exploration of how the application of “Organization of Dots,” “Orientation in Space,” and “Analytic Perception” can facilitate the development of visual thinking and spatial reasoning in the classroom.

Pre-Requisite:

Prior familiarity with Level 1 Instrumental Enrichment program is desirable.

Certification:

Upon completion of the course graduates will receive a Certificate of Attendance of FIE for Students with Learning Difficulties in Mathematics.

Full attendance of training activities is required.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

Please note: The Feuerstein Institute reserves the right to cancel any course that has less than 10 participants registered. The final list of courses will be posted following the registration deadline of April 30, 2024.  Fees for courses canceled by the Institute will be refunded in full. In cases where the participants cancel, there is a €100 processing charge for reimbursement of workshop fees for cancellations made before the registration deadline. There are no refunds for cancellations after the registration deadline.
