Mediation of Social-Emotional Skills Workshop

Upcoming Seminar(s)

June 30th, 2024

July 3rd, 2024
Prague

Participation in the workshop is open to university students, teachers, clinicians, and parents who wish to learn more about the social-emotional development and acquire practical skills in developing children’s social-emotional cognition. (The course is not intended for mediators who already studied a complete Instrumental Enrichment Basic program)

It is very important for the younger child, and for many older learners, including adults, to have access to the social-emotional dimension of cognitive development.  It thus becomes clear that there is a need to prepare children to develop the awareness, skills, and insights into how to react to the emotional manifestations of their experience, both internally (what is felt) and externally (what is present in the situations to which they will be exposed).

Syllabus:

  • Introduction to the theory of Mediated Learning Experience
  • Emotional development of the child
  • Emergent and deficient cognitive functions
  • Developing social-emotional skills in children with ASD
  • Social-emotional intelligence of the older children
  • Comprehensive instruction in the use of the following IE Basic instruments Identifying Emotions, From Empathy to Action, and Think and Learn to Prevent Violence)

Learning Materials:

Course participants will receive a set of 3 IE Basic instruments, and Page by Page Guidelines for Identifying Emotions.
