Prerequisites:

Prerequisites for participation in this course include: a. Successful completion of the Trainers Level 1 course; b. Submittal of the evidence of IE co-training experience.

Submittal of Evidence of IE co-training experience must include the standard report of IE training/supervision implementation (to be obtained from FI), and two Training Session Plans (mandatory). Additional materials such as articles, teaching videos and other IE materials are optional. The candidates must comply with the CPD conditions up until presentation of candidacy, submit the recommendation of either their IE supervisor, a senior staff member of the school where the trainer taught, or any other person who supervised the candidate’s teaching and professional training activities. All the above materials should reach the Feuerstein Institute before May 1, 2024. The candidates are expected to be able to take the Trainer level 2 course in English. Feuerstein Institute reserves the right to reject candidature on the basis of committee members’ opinions that the candidate has not met the established requirements for acceptance.

Syllabus:

  • Didactics of teaching the theory of SCM and the theory of MLE
  • Didactics of teaching cognitive functions and the Cognitive Map
  • Differential use of the IE program with various student populations
  • Mediation in teacher training
  • Analysis of IE tasks in paper-and-pencil and digital modality
  • Observation and critical analysis of IE training sessions
  • Supervised teaching of selected topics to IE-1 & 2 course participants
  • The system-oriented approach and “bridging” cognitive principles to various curricular areas
  • Strategies of presenting the IE program to various “clients” (teachers, principals, parents, etc.)
  • Promotion of the IE program and the organization of an ATC
  • Quality assurance in IE training
  • Group discussion of participants’ teaching and training experiences

Course participants are asked to submit a final paper reflecting their FIE teaching and co-training experience and present this paper during the last day of the course on July 5, 2024.

Materials:

Course participants should bring their own set of IE instruments (received during Trainers-1 course) and a Teaching Diagrams booklet. The participants are required to bring their own laptop computers (not tablets) for the work with digital materials.

Certification:

Successful graduates of the Trainers Level 2 course will qualify as Trainers Level 2 and will be entitled to use their certificate in the following ways:
a. Teaching teachers and other professionals the IE Standard courses, on condition that the courses comply with the course provisions as stipulated by FI;
b. Teaching teachers and other professionals are permissible only in the country of residence of the teacher, or in the country(ies) specified in the alliance agreement with Feuerstein Institute.
c. Teaching teachers and other professionals requires signing an alliance agreement with Feuerstein Institute as an ATA, ATC (Authorized Training Center), or working as a staff member of an existent ATC.

The certificate is valid for six years from its issue date. Renewal of the certificate is dependent on renewal training (CPD) consisting of the following:
a. If operating as an ATA, submission of standard training reports as required by the ATA agreement.
b. If operating in the context of an ATC, ensure that courses taught by you are properly reported in the annual report of the ATC to FI, as stipulated in the ATC contract.
c. Completion of a Trainer’s Renewal Course once every six years (given in the annual Feuerstein Summer Workshops)

Trainers must either sign an agreement with the Feuerstein Institute establishing themselves as an ATA/ATC or be employed by an existing ATC. Trainers are forbidden from teaching the Feuerstein Method without having an existing contract in place.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

Please note: The Feuerstein Institute reserves the right to cancel any course that has less than 10 participants registered. The final list of courses will be posted following the registration deadline of April 30, 2024.  Fees for courses canceled by the Institute will be refunded in full. In cases where the participants cancel, there is a €100 processing charge for reimbursement of workshop fees for cancellations made before the registration deadline. There are no refunds for cancellations after the registration deadline.
